Kelly’s Directory in 1922 – the first edition including Park Avenue – shows only ‘Beechwood’ in Park Avenue North. This house matches the style to 1 Park Avenue South, and is in harmony with the Edwardian houses in Maple Road.

This northern section of Park Avenue has seen substantial changes over recent years. A number of houses are Locally Listed (27, 35, 53, 57 and 61). They are mostly of the arts and crafts or art deco style, with spacious plots and trees and are characteristic of the streetscape. We hope that photos will come to light to show what stood on the sites of recently rebuilt homes.
