Diver's End

Do you know where Diver's End was/is?

William Diver bought Batford Mill at some stage (probably in the nineteenth century) but he moved around so it may not be in Harpenden.

I found a mention of a Divers End on the http://www.wheathampstead.net/titmuss/family.htm website. It mentions "James Titmuss 1815 - 1876. James Titmuss came from Stevenage where the family had lived since 1704. He married Sara Amelia Garratt (1818 - 1878) of Codicote Mills and they lived at Cross Farm, Langley. In 1848 they moved to Divers End and then to Nup End Farm, Codicote. Their son George was born in 1847 at Cross Farm". Whether this is in Codicote or not is not very well specified. It may help you though.

Ed. Thanks for the information.

William Free Love Divers was the Miller at Batford Mill in the 1850s and 1860s - surely the location of Divers End!
