Surviving amidst the expanding estates of 20th century mock-tudor and neo-classical housing and the ever-changing High Street, Harpenden has hidden treasures of timber-framed buildings from the late 15th century onwards, and some notable houses dating back to the 18th and early 19th centuries.  All have had to adapt to survive.  Others, of which we have photos in our archives, have disappeared.  We hope you will add information and photos of past and present buildings with historical associations.
