Enid Summers - sharing Harpenden memories

A tribute to Enid Summers

I was sitting beneath the Harpenden sign with my mother-in-law Enid Summers. This was in about 1987, when the twin-town shields of Alzey and Cosne still hung on the Harpenden sign.

Enid had lived most of her life in the Harpenden/Wheathampstead area until she moved back to her home town in Kidwelly, Wales for family reasons. But she wished she had never left Harpenden. When she died in May 2006, we carried out her wish to have her ashes spread in Harpenden.  We feel that she rests comfortably in what we believe is a very suitable position.
